The Abu Dhabi Police partook in the Abu Dhabi Festival for Domesticated Animals organized by the National Animal Care Program (Rifq) at Yas Island. This festival embodies the Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy to communicate with various segments of society.

Colonel Jamal Habash, Director of Security Inspection Department (K9) at Abu Dhabi Police and Head of the Emirates Dog Breeders Society, said that the department participated in the festival with three pavilions; namely, the Abu Dhabi Police Veterinary Pavilion, Police Dogs Show Pavilion, and the Emirates Dog Breeders Society Pavilion. Colonel Habash noted that the department’s teams presented police dog shows throughout the exhibition, and also provided veterinary services to dog breeders visiting the exhibition.

Furthermore, the Emirates Dog Breeders Society provided guidance and advice by distributing awareness pamphlets and showcasing educational films. In addition, educational brochures about caring and loving animals were distributed to children.

“Our participation aims to promote animal welfare awareness, in order to avoid the spread of infectious diseases. It also urges the community to apply safety and care procedures in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act, whether caring for animals, especially dogs, or while transporting them,” said Colonel Habash.
