Abu Dhabi Police CID takes part in Firearms and Ammunition meeting in Brussels

A delegation from the Criminal Investigation Department of Abu Dhabi Police participated in the works of the 5-day annual meeting for the Permanent International Commission for Firearms Testing (CIP) held in Brussels, Belgium.

Among 14 countries participating in the meeting, UAE is only Middle East country to join the international commission as a member, stated Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Director of CID and head of the delegation.

The latest developments in the field of firearms and ammunition quality as well as modern testing methods have been discussed during the sessions of the meeting, noted Al Hammadi.

“Work papers suggested solutions of some obstacles facing laboratory firearms and ammunition testing”, he added.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the delegation visited the Belgium Center for Testing the Quality of Firearms and Ammunition, one of the oldest specialized centers in this field and was established in 1760.

They got acquainted with the equipment and the services the Center is providing.
