Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadi Al Menhali, Director General of Police Operations in Abu Dhabi Police was briefed on the missions of the Women with Disabilities Committee in the Emirates Women’s Police Association.    

Major Al Awadi had met First Lieutenant Amina Mohammed Khamis, President of the Emirates Women’s Police Association, who informed him of the committee's objectives and future plans. “We must overcome the obstacles that hinder women with disabilities; provide them with job opportunities and integrate them into the society”, he added.

Lieutenant Al Khamis stated that the establishment of the “Women with Disabilities Committee” is the result of the great attention given by the State’s leadership to this segment of society, adding that the committee aims to empower and integrate women with disabilities, socially and practically, and give them the opportunity to carry out their role in the service of their society.

Al Khamis pointed out that the committee identifies the problems and difficulties faced by women with disabilities. “We will set a day to honor the Committee and its important role, at the Second Conference for Emirati Women Police, which will be held in March 2013; in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior’s centers for the rehabilitation and employment of people with disabilities, in order to get acquainted with their achievements and projects through their work in the Police field”, she concluded.
