A fire broke out on Wednesday afternoon in the Mussafah Power plant in Abu Dhabi with no reported injuries or casualties. Supervising the operation on location were; Colonel Juma Al Dahmani, Deputy Director of Abu Dhabi Civil Defense, and Lt. Colonel Mohammed Ibrahim Al Ameri, Director of Emergency and Public Safety Department at Abu Dhabi Police Central Operations Department.

Lt. Colonel Al Ameri indicated that as soon as the Operations Room received the notification call at 4:30pm, Civil Defense and Rapid Intervention teams were immediately dispatched to the scene. The fire broke out in one of the three on site transformers at the Musaffah power plant that provides electricity to the Mussafah area and other regions in Abu Dhabi.

Al Ameri further noted that 4 centers of the Civil Defense and the Rapid Intervention teams continue extinguishing the fire on site, while the Air Wing Section aircraft performed a thermal scan of the scene. The operation is supported by the Traffic and Patrols Directorate at Abu Dhabi Police, the Crime Scene Department, the Security Media, Abu Dhabi Municipality water tankers, and the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority.
