A delegation from the Forensics Department of Abu Dhabi Police has participated in the international meeting for forensic geology which was lately held in Rome, Italy.
Various paper works in different fields of criminal geology have been presented during the meeting, said Captain Ahmed Saeed Al Kaabi, head of the delegation.
Roamteri University has also organized workshops and visits to the geology and physics departments at the university to keep participants familiar with soil testing equipment and devices and the related scientific projects.
Al Kaabi stated that the Abu Dhabi Police delegation has participated in the meeting as a representative of the UAE in its capacity as the regional representative of Initiative on Forensic Geology (IFG) affiliated with UNESCO to benefit from the applications of geology in criminal purposes to achieve criminal justice.
Geologists, international senior police officials, forensic experts and university professors are taking part in the Initiative, pointed out Al Kaabi.
In addition to the UAE delegation, a number of delegates attended the meeting representing the USA, the UK, Italy, Australia, South Africa, Canada and Russia.
