The Forensic Evidence Department of Abu Dhabi Police presented a research working paper as part of its participation in a technical workshop at the annual conference of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. The one-week conference was held in Washington, USA.

The Police delegation included Colonel Expert Dr. Ahmed Al Haddad, Head of Documents Examination Section, and Lieutenant Colonel Expert Rashed Al Burkani, in addition to Lieutenant Nisrine Al Braiki, Lieutenant Salamat AL Badi and Dr. Salem Al Zohouri, expert in Forensic Dentistry.

Colonel Al Haddad participated in a workshop at the Conference about signatures examination for unhealthy or people on drugs, compared to healthy people signatures.

For his part, Dr. Al Zohouri presented a research working paper on the use of the optimal estimate of the presumptive age of children’s teeth development and its importance in revealing the positive impacts of Children’s Rights, notably in the absence of identification documents or the inability to identify a juvenile’s age before judicial and official authorities. The research was published in the American Journal of Criminal Sciences.

Moreover, the delegation members toured the Scientific Equipment Exhibition held on the sidelines of the Conference, where they were acquainted with the latest findings of Modern Science in the field of forensic evidence.
