The Forensic Evidence Department, at the Abu Dhabi Police Directorate General of Security and Ports Affairs discussed cooperation with respect to steroid tests for birds, with a delegation from the Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC).
Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Head of the Forensic Evidence Department, held a meeting with the delegation, headed by Mohammed Ibrahim Al Mahmood, Secretary General of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council. The meeting was attended by Colonel Hassan Al Hosani, Deputy Director of the Forensic Evidence Department, and a number of expert officers, along with Zayed Al Mansouri, Head of Services and Maintenance Unit of Abu Dhabi Falconers’ Club.
The delegation was acquainted with the work mechanisms applied at the forensic laboratories, and reviewed their role in conducting animal drug testing in sports competitions.
Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi indicated that cooperation between both parties was tackled at the meeting, as well as the forensic laboratories’ role in conducting steroid tests for birds enrolled in competitions.
Colonel Al Hammadi valued the keenness of governmental and private parties to cooperate with the Forensic Evidence Department and leverage its scientific and forensic services. “This approach strengthens the Abu Dhabi Police’s role in the service of the community, and allows efficient communication and interaction with the different segments of society,” he concluded.
