The Ports Security Institute of the Ports and Airports Security Department at Abu Dhabi Police celebrated the graduation of 59 participants after completing three one-week courses. The courses included a course on “Detection and Security Inspection using computer-based training simulation (CBT)”; a course on “Airports Security Basics”; and a course for “Airport Security Supervisors”.
Colonel Matar Ahmed Al Muhairi, Director of the Institute, stated that organizing the training courses embodies the Abu Dhabi Police’s strategy to develop the skills and competencies of its police cadre as per international-best standards, and within the police’s keenness to provide outstanding services to the public.
“A total of 16 participants received theoretical and practical applications on the security inspection system (CBT). Another 20 participants attended a course on Airports Security Basics and were acquainted with a number of techniques and tasks, to hone their skills in various specialized fields,” he added.
Al Muhairi noted that 23 participants were acquainted with the various skills related to airport security in the “Airport Security Supervisors” course. Concluding he pointed out that a total of eight participants from Lebanon attended the courses, out of whom 5 attended the “Airports Security Basics” course and three joined the “Airport Security Supervisors” course.
At the end of the ceremony, certificates were distributed to the graduates in the presence of a number of officers and officials at the Ports and Airports Security Department.
