In 11 months, the Traffic Section at Al Ain, in partnership with Al Ain Educational Zone, universities and Emirates Transport has executed as many as 163 awareness lectures targeting university and schools students, school bus supervisors and drivers.
the lectures focused on the major causes of car accidents and methods of protection, pointed out First Lit Hamdan bin Dheban, acing head of public relation, Al Ain traffic and patrols section.
School transportation safety measures, importance of observing traffic rules, and ways of maintaining traffic safety at different educational institutions have also been addressed during the lectures.
Drivers have also been enlightened about the actions to be taken when approaching students’ assembly areas, inside the school campus, or residential areas. School bus supervisor’s role in ensuring the students safety while getting on and off the school bus has also been stressed at these lectures.
Awareness safety-related programs such as seminars, workshops, demonstrations on safe road crossing will be conducted on a continuous basis to ensure the safety of students, stressed bin Dheban.
