The United Arab Emirates has won a seat in the Executive Board of the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO).
A delegation from the Civil Defense GHQ had participated in the International Civil Defense Organization meeting, recently held in Geneva.
The UAE delegation was headed by Lt. Colonel Abdullah Al Tikawi, Director of Strategy and Performance Development at the Civil defense GHQ. The delegation also included Director of Civil Protection and Safety Department, along with a number of members of the UAE Permanent Mission in Geneva.
The Secretary-General reviewed a detailed report showcasing the Organization’s activities since the nineteenth session of the ICDO General Assembly, in 2010. He gave a presentation on the Organization’s future activities program for the next two years (2013 – 2014). During the meeting, the UAE was voted in as new member of the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO).
