The Al Ain Civil Defense Department and Rapid Intervention Section at the Emergency and Public Safety Department of Abu Dhabi Police managed to put out a fire that broke out on Tuesday afternoon, at a building in the industrial city in Al Ain, without causing any casualties.
Lt. Colonel Rashid Mohammed Hamar Ain Al Darmaki, Director of Al Ain Civil Defense Department stated that the Operations Rooms received a report at around 1:18 PM about a fire that started in a building comprising 8 shops including carpentry and plastic material. Competent teams rushed to the scene, just 4 minutes following the report.
Al Darmaki added that Civil Defense teams began extinguishing the fire upon arrival, and managed to contain it in record time, thus preventing the blaze from spreading to nearby areas. The teams also carried out the cooling process; and while no casualties were reported in the incident, investigations began to determine the causes of the fire.
Al Darmaki called on shop owners in industrial cities to comply with security and public safety precautions, in order to prevent fire hazards.
