The Medical Services Department of the Abu Dhabi Police launched its awareness campaign on diabetes and how to prevent it, under the slogan: "Diabetes ... Let’s Protect our Future." Major Dr. Tariq Al Junaibi, Head of the Health Education Division in the Medical Services Department explained that the campaign includes lecturing, distributing booklets, and providing guidance about the disease.
He pointed out that the department will provide awareness lectures for high school students. He added that the campaign focuses on this segment of society in reflection of the campaign’s slogan aiming to prevent the disease and spread awareness to raise a sound and healthy new generation.
Dr. Hanan Al Jughami, Specialist on Internal Medicine and Diabetes in the Medical Services Department said that an open day will be organized for police members and their families, which will include routine medical tests for diabetes, hypertension, and nerve function for diabetic patients. Brochures and booklets on clinic medical services will also be distributed to the visitors; lectures will take place in the departments of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters.
