4 thousand individuals benefit from Community Police’s programs during November

During November 2012, the number of individuals who benefitted from awareness programs carried out by the Department of Community Police amounted to 4000 beneficiaries. Programs included 90 lectures and field visits to a number of schools, governmental bodies and institutions in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and the Western Region.

Major Yusuf Faraj, Head of Social Relations Section in ADP Department of Community Police, said that awareness programs are part of the community and awareness activities carried out by the Department to spread security and community culture among individuals in residential areas, and the various authorities and institutions. The programs also include field visits to a number of institutions in oil sector and schools.

Moreover, the programs aim to acquaint individuals with the goals and functions of the Community Police. They also aim to raise community awareness in residential areas, develop the sense of security among members of society, and instill national values. This is achieved through the program titled “Community”, which is broadcast through awareness messages over the phone, to all employees of Abu Dhabi Police GHQ.
