Rehabilitation of camel jockeys on right track

His Highness Lt.Gen.Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Minister of Interior, expressed his satisfaction over the activities that are being implemented as part of the rehabilitation of the repatriated child camel jockeys
 
A special committee set up to follow up the action plan visited Bengladesh, Pakistan and Mauritania and Sudan. They had an on the spot evaluation of the programs that are being implemented in the respective countries. The team was headed by Major General Khaleel Badran, Director General of Financial and administrative affairs at the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police.
 
Over 690 repatriated camel jockeys live in Pakistan, 200 in Bangladesh. Badran gave details about the on going rehabilitation programs such as providing education and economic security.
 
Sheikh Saif reiterated the commitment of UAE in protecting the rights of children and added that the second phase of rehabilitation will be much more wider and in accordance with the standing agreements with UNICEF.
