Naturalization & Residency Staff Members Trained On the Use of Defibrillators
Staff members at the General Directorate of Resources and Support services, at the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs sector, attended a workshop on the proper ways to conduct cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) using the Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This would allow them to provide first aid and resuscitate who suffer heart attack and stroke.
During the workshop, which was organized by the Information and Public Relations Section at the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs building, Major Dr. Ahmed Obeid Al Ghoul, Head of Outpatient Clinics at the Medical Services Department of Abu Dhabi Police, explained the basics of the CPR procedure and how to use the Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to provide first aid to patients.
Major Dr. Ahmed Obeid Al Ghoul gave an overview of the different incidents involving heart attacks, strokes, epilepsy and simple and severe external bleeding and how to handle such cases. He also acquainted them with the basics of first aid in emergency situations that involve suffocation, severe allergies and seizures, as well as the correct CPR procedures.
As a part of the workshop, practical exercises were carried out on the proper ways to perform CPR for victims of all ages. In conclusion, Major Dr. Ahmed Obeid Al Ghoul answered the audience’s questions and queries.
The workshop was attended by a large number of officers, non-commissioned officers, constables and female staff members at the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs.
