National campaign nets 704 illegals

More than 700 illegal immigrants were caught by the security authorities during the second national campaign for security awareness. There was intensified security vigilance of the countries borders and cost line during the campaign period.

 A weeklong National campaign under the theme Legal residence – A safer society was launched in February. It was aimed at involving public to uncover the illegal immigrants

 The search for those who have entered the country illegally or overstayed continued with full cooperation of the Immigration and other Security departments.

 Hundreds of illegals were also arrested during the raids conducted by at the residential buildings and highway inspections. Raids also were conducted in the outskirts of Abu Dhabi

 The authorities have lauded the public for providing information about the staying of illegals and for their cooperation in curbing the menace of illegal immigrants and their criminal activities.
