MoI Child Protection Praises Announcement of Sharjah Baby-Friendly Emirate
The Higher Committee for Child Protection at the Ministry of Interior recently praised the announcement of His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who stated that Sharjah has become the world’s first baby friendly city; known now as Sharjah Baby-Friendly Emirate.
Major General Dr. Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary General of the Office of HH Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Higher Committee for Child Protection at the Ministry of Interior, described this measure as a civilized step that promotes care for children and family according to advanced and developed standards.
He also praised the distinguished initiatives stemming from the announcement. He also asserted that the Sharjah Baby-Friendly Emirate further supports the efforts of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in establishing the country a beacon of civilization and as a regional leading model in protecting children and maintaining their security. This is accomplished by taking every measure to ensure the safety and security of the societies.
Major General Al Nuaimi also stressed on the commitment of the Child Protection Committee to cooperate with related institutions that are tasked with implementing these initiatives; which represent another major achievement for the Emirate of Sharjah regarding child protection and care. These achievements represent a global leading model; as it falls within the framework of the UAE’s continued efforts to provide comprehensive care for children in education, health, and security fields.
