A delegation from Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research (KUSTAR), visited the Emergency and Public Safety Department at Abu Dhabi Police to review the various tasks and duties undertaken by the department. The visit also included the training center in Al Shalila area, where they were briefed on the advanced equipment and machinery used by the department for rescue and first aid.

Colonel Mohammed Ibrahim Al Ameri, Head of the Emergency and Public Safety Department, Directorate General of Central Operation, Abu Dhabi Police, emphasized the importance of acquainting academic institutions with the tasks and duties undertaken by the department. He stressed the need to exchange expertise in a way that contributes to improving police services, while strengthening partnerships in this regard within the vision of Abu Dhabi Police.

The delegation members toured the department’s headquarters, where they were given an overview by Major Abdullah Al Saghir on the rescue and first aid methodology, as well as ways to develop services. Major Al Saghir noted that such visits aim to strengthen cooperation and coordination relations in the quest to promote research pertaining to rescue and ambulance services, whereas the Abu Dhabi Police avail the graduation research paper of the Khalifa University of Science, Technology and Research, to improve ambulance and rescue operations.

Furthermore, at the Shalila training center, the delegation was briefed on the training programs provided by the center, and its instrumental role in enhancing the efficiency of rescue personnel.
