A delegation from the Italian Police (Carabinieri) visited the Directorate General of Guards and Special Tasks at the Abu Dhabi General Headquarters on Wednesday morning. The visit aims to exchange expertise, enhance police staff members’ skills, and review modern techniques and methods used in the training process.
The delegation members were briefed about the organizational structure of the Directorate General of Guards and Special Tasks, as well as its strategy and the different tasks and duties undertaken by its affiliated departments. The delegation also visited the Force 7 Department.
Colonel Rashid Al Shamesi, Acting Head of the Force 7 Department welcomed the visiting delegation. During the visit, members of the delegation were acquainted with the department’s organizational structure, tasks and duties, as well as the field training program for staff members. They also watched a documentary film, which provided an overview on the different equipment, vehicles and weapons used in the various tasks.
The delegation also reviewed the tasks and duties at the Special Tasks Department through a presentation that showcased the training program using modern and sophisticated devices, equipment and vehicles. During their visit to the Government and Diplomatic Premises Protection Department, members of the delegation were briefed about its organizational structure and different tasks and duties.
The Italian Police (Carabinieri) delegation praised the leading experience of Abu Dhabi Police, which enjoy a prominent international stature and renown amongst police institutions. Members of the delegation expressed admiration for the high quality services provided by the Directorate General of Guards and Special Tasks’ various departments, and voiced their hopes for further mutual visits and cooperation, especially in the field of training.
