A Bangladeshi worker was injured when a fire broke out in a carpentry and labor residential compound at the Industrial Area in Al Ain on Sunday.
A team of the Emergency and Public Safety Department at the Abu Dhabi Police and Civil Defence Department in Al Ain contained the blaze in a short time before it spread to other stores in the area.
The injured worker was rushed by the Civil Defence ambulance to Al Jimi Hospital for treatment.
“Fire engines rushed to the place after the Operations Room was reported at 11.18am on the break out of fire,” said Lieutenant Colonel Rashid Hamar Ain, Director-General of Civil Defence Department in Al Ain.
Firefighters managed to put the situation under control in 40 minutes, he said, adding that the place was cooled in less than an hour.
