Members from the Emergency and Public Safety Department at Abu Dhabi Police trained 30 female students from the Abu Dhabi Centre for Care and Rehabilitation for People with Special Needs to use manual fire extinguishers. They also introduced students on ways to control fire through practical exercises executed by the students, allowing them to proceed with firefighting tasks.

In line with the framework of the protection program, the students also benefited from the awareness activities provided by the Emergency and Public Safety Department on first aid and ways to handle different accidents, including home incidents. They were also acquainted about prevention measures to limit such dangers, and ways to handle them when they occur at home or when others request their help to handle different house incidents.

Members of the Emergency and Public Safety Department explained the steps of calling an ambulance and handling heart attacks, brain strokes and diabetic individuals.

Naimah Al Mansouri, Director of Abu Dhabi Center for Care and Rehabilitation for People with Special Needs, revealed that the Center focuses on providing female students with training programs on first aid, in addition to teaching them how to carry out such aid and use fire extinguishers. She noted that the students benefited greatly from the skills they learned during the awareness activities that motivate them to take initiative and enhance their spirit of participation.
