Electronic Detonator Circuit Course at Abu Dhabi Police
A total of 18 staff members from the Abu Dhabi Police completed the Electronic Detonator Circuit course organized by the Training Department, at the General Directorate of Human Resources at Abu Dhabi Police, in cooperation with experts from the Korean Ministry of Interior.
The course focused on providing participants’ with the necessary knowledge of the different electrical and mechanical detonation mechanisms and other electronic components and circuits used in the improvised explosive devices (IED). As a part of the course, participants received a number of theoretical lectures and practical exercises, designed to boost their skills and expertise in the field of explosive ordnance disposal.
The course also aims to qualify participants on the appropriate ways to defuse improvised explosive devices (IEDs) using ordinary tools, and acquaint them with the different techniques and methods to defuse booby traps and explosives. It also aims to provide participants with the necessary skills to break open fire-resistant oors, through joint cooperation between the explosive ordnance disposal team and the Special Forces.
