The Al Rahba police station of the Abu Dhabi Police’s peripheral areas Police Directorate partook in the national campaign launched by the Abu Dhabi government to preserve the environment and wildlife, with this year’s theme being "desert comes to life”.
Fabaceae tree, or "Al Ghaf" as called in Arabic that is the national tree of the UAE, were planted in one of the nearby desert areas of the region, in collaboration with some specialized strategic partners and a number of school students.
Major Khatem Mubarak Al Kutbi, Director of Operations at the Al Rahba police station said plastic bags have been removed from the land and long-lived trees have been cultivated instead. This will encourage new generations to maintain environmental conservation and sustainable development.
