Abu Dhabi Police Discuss Preparations for the Ramadan-Special Commander in Chief Championships

The Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, represented by the Sports Activity Section, the National Teams and Competitions Branch, discussed the final preparations for the Ramadan Special Seven-a-side Football Tournament, as a part of the Abu Dhabi Police Commander-in-Chief Championship. The preparatory meeting was held at the Police Officers Club in Abu Dhabi.

Mohammed Saeed Al Maqbali, Supervisor of the Tournaments and Competitions, explained that 19 departments affiliated with the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (GHQ), will take part in the Seven-a-side Football Tournament. The tournament will commence on the first day of Ramadan 2016, and will continue until the 20th.

Al Maqbali said that the participating teams will be divided into four groups. Group A includes teams representing the Strategy and Performance Development Department; the Security Inspection Department K9; the Community Police Department; the Security Information Department; and the Emergency and Public Safety Department. Group B includes the Western Region Police Directorate and the Traffic and Patrols Directorate’s teams, in addition to teams from the Weapons and Explosives Department; the Information Technology (IT) Department; and the Operations Department. Group C includes teams from the Peripheral Regions Directorate and from the Control and Discipline Department; the Forensic Evidence Department; the Procurement and Warehouses Department; and the Crime Scene Department. Group D will include the Al Ain Police Directorate team along with teams from the Ports and Airports Security Department; the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department; and the Police Schools Department.
