Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters (ADP GHQ), represented by the Medical Services Department affiliated to the General Directorate of Finance and Services, concluded the ‘Your Health in Ramadan’ awareness and education campaign concerning diabetes and asthma.
The campaign included educational tours for police members in a number of buildings affiliated to the Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the ADP. It highlighted health awareness promotion through initial medical tests. The diabetes and asthma patients were familiarized with the balanced diet necessary to consume during Ramadan, in order to avoid any negative impact as a result of nutritional shortage or over-indulgence. Media publications were also distributed and included tips and advice to help patients, which explained the healthy diet for diabetics during Ramadan.
The initiative was held in conjunction with the police departments and falls within the context of their eagerness to increase participation and enhance society’s health and safety. The events included the distribution of media publications, as well as scientific and educational health material to the sectors of the public targeted by the campaign.
The program included the following: Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, the Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, the Police Departments Complex, the Capital Police Directorate and the Ministry of Interior’s building.
