The Security Inspection Department at the Directorate General of Security and Ports Affairs of Abu Dhabi Police celebrated the graduation of a one-week advanced first aid course, which was attended by 14 trainers and doctors.
Major Saeed Khalifa Bin Rakkad, Head of Vocational and Technical Training Section at the Department, said that the course is part of the annual training program that aims to raise staff members’ efficiency, and acquaint them with the best skills in first aid for dogs and simple surgical procedures.
Participants received theoretical and practical training on dogs’ medical checks, diagnosis to determine extent of illness or injury and means to handle such cases. Participants were also trained to identify temporary diseases such as sunstrokes, and perform urgent surgeries.
Major Bin Rakkad distributed certificates to the graduates wishing them luck in their future work.
