Two Asians were killed today when an empty fuel tank exploded and broke in half, at a maintenance workshop at M11, Musaffah. The explosion also caused damage to shops in the area.
The Civil Defense Operation Rooms received a call at9:27 a.m. on Sunday about theexplosion of theempty fuel tank. Immediately, Civil Defense fire teams, accompanied byambulances, rushed to the location in a record time of 31.9 minutes. The deceased were transferred to the preventive medicine facility, while investigations are underway to determine the reason for this incident.
Colonel Muhammad Abdullah Al Nuaimi, director general of Abu Dhabi Civil Defense, called for more caution to avoid such occurrences.
