The Abu Dhabi Police have honored a number of officers and members of the Victims Affairs Office of the Crisis and Disasters Management Department in recognition for their efforts in identifying the victims of the fallen Malaysia Airlines passenger jet in 2014, and the victims of the Indonesian AirAsia flight in 2015 following its crash in Indonesia late December 2014.

Brigadier Eng. Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, praised the efforts of the teams for both humanitarian missions. Both teams were successful in determining the identities of the victims, which is befitting of the keenness of the Ministry of Interior’s leadership to participate in such fields. The MoI is committed to taking part in search and rescue missions in all crises and disasters worldwide.

Brigadier Eng. Al Harithi expressed his desire to achieve additional accomplishments as leaders in all police fields in a bid to maintain and preserve the national gains of the UAE in this regard.

The ceremony was attended by Brigadier Ismail Al Sirkal, Deputy Director General of Abu Dhabi Police Central Operations; and Major Ahmed Nasser Al Kendi, Deputy Director of Crisis and Disaster Management Department at Abu Dhabi Police.
