UAE relief team praised
Brigadier Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of the Central operations department has lauded the relief and search operations carried out by the UAE rescue team dispatched to quake hit Indonesian Island of Java.
Al Raisi said, His Highness Lt. Gen.Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan ,the Minister of Interior had been personally following up the rescue and search operations of the team and making sure of their safety.
The team had exhibited high resilience and response to the circumstances on the ground there. The conducted search and rescue operations and provided medical assistance to many injured people and supported the Red Crescent society in its field and medical operations, he added.
The team had carried out the noble task underlying the policy of UAE and its prudent leadership of extending humanitarian assistance to every one in need and providing relief to the victims of natural calamities, he said.
The 39 member team was led by Khalid Abdul Latif Al Dousary, Head of Ambulance and Rescue unit of Abu Dhabi Police.
