UAE'S anti terror units among the best, says Sheikh Saif
Close cooperation with Germany to continue
The Ministry of Interior has trained special anti terrorism units which are rated among the best in terms of training and preparedness, said Lt. General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior.
In an interview with the German police magazine ,Sheikh Saif said the UAE was benefiting from the German expertise in training specialized anti terrorism units in addition to other specialized units for disaster management, criminal search ,security surveillance and abductions operations.
Over hundred personnel from the UA E Police are sent to Germany every year for training in various areas, said Sheikh Saif.
The ministry of interior has trained special anti terrorism units which are now rated among the best in terms of training and preparedness.
These units can work alongside other units from UAE Armed forces said Sheikh Saif.
On the history of UAE German cooperation Sheikh Saif said this cooperation dated back to 1980 when the first police units were trained by German and British expert's .since then, close cooperation in the area of training has continued.
Civil defence training
At the moment there are 50 UAE Officers on training in Germany. They are receiving specialized training in the areas of search and rescue operations in addition to the fields of communications, economy, IT and management, Sheikh Saif said.
