UAE Cops among winners of poetry contest
 
Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters has announced the results of the vernacular poetry competition held in Abu Dhabi from March 18 to 24 on the occasion of the 22nd GCC traffic week.
 
Poet Khamees bin Khalfan bin Ali Al Weshahi,hailing from Oman, topped the list followed by poet Atteq Khalfan Al Khaabi ,from the UAE.the third, fourth and fifth positions were clinched by poets Nasser Matter Ali Al Niyadi,UAE Mubarak bin Makhelb bin Habibullah al zebani,Saudi Arabia and Mahadi bin Salem Al Khalifi UAE
 
Captain Nasser bin Khadem Al Kaabi,Head of the social guidance and Public Relations department of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters lauded the 52 UAE and other GCC poets competing in highlighting the importance of traffic safety in verse. He also pinpointed the importance of poetry in tackling social issues in an artistic and rhetorical form.
