Training on Media relations for Abu Dhabi Police by US expert
29 Police Personnel’s from various departments of the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police are undergoing a specialized training in various aspects of media relations ,including matters related to news reporting and handling of follow up of investigations by the media related agencies.
The training is being conducted by Mr. Cris Ryan expert in media relations from the . The program is aimed at providing proper training for the Police officers in handling the media, especially while dealing with reporting of criminal investigations.
The subject comprehensively deals with all aspects of news reporting ,giving interviews to the press ,matters to be told to the press and also which portions need to be kept away from the media so that it doe not either hamper the investigation process nor affect the safety and security aspects .
The US expert have sited various examples of real incidents were the ignorance in handling the press makes negative impacts on the image of the security forces and called upon the attendees to develop the art of media handling through the knowledge they gain from such programs.
He also thanked the higher authorities at the human resource directorate at the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police for taking such creative initiatives in developing the Police personnel’s all-round caliber to make it a quality force. He added.
The attendees to the program included the personnel’s from the public relations and mass media administrations besides those selected from other departments. The training will go in till Wednesday.
