Sheikh Saif inaugurates e-Gate system at the Abu Dhabi International Airport.

His highness Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Minister of Interior, inaugurated the e-Gates system at the Abu Dhabi International yesterday.
The next step will involve the implementation of the electronic system at all the entry and exit points of the country’s boarders. The system has already proved to be successful at the Dubai international airport, following which it was analyzed and the evaluation was found to be excellent.
His Highness Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan pointed out that all the projects undertaken in the Emirates are always fully tested before they are implemented anywhere in the Country.
The unified e-Gate electronic system is a highly sophisticated automotive system that helps ease the procedure for travelers entering and exiting the airports. The people can use their e-cards bearing and confirming their finger prints, as they pass through the electronic gate allowing them to enter or exit. There will be no need to get their passport checked and stamped as earlier.
The system will also help the passenger flow, allowing no more than one person to pass through the gate at one time, which will be the only one way to enter or exit which will not take more than five seconds and also alert the passenger if he has left his baggage behind.
The e-Gate card can be obtained by paying 200 dhs as its fee, along with his passpo
