Over 90,000 complain at toll free number of Abu Dhabi police
A total of 90,283 complaints on various incidents that took place in the capital and the suburbs were lodged with the central operations room at the Abu Dhabi Police headquarters via dialing the toll free 999 within the first six months of the current year ,according to Lt.Col.Ali Al Dahahiri ,director of the central operations department.
Reports were handled in a record time, said Lt.Col. Dhahiri, attributing the quick response to the well trained personnel and high tech devices.
Citing statistics released by the department, he said that traffic accidents topped the list in terms of telephone calls received and accounted for 75,046 from the city of Abu Dhabi and its suburbs, out of which, 32168 reports were accidents involving collusion of vehicles.
Other calls included complaining of blocking the way at car parks, hit and run, about unknown persons and about drivers causing traffic disruptions.
