Jet - Ski Police in Abu Dhabi
The Abu Dhabi Police have set up a unit for the jet skis manned by skilled and qualified personnel to deal with search and rescue operations, according to the head of Marine Police section Captain Khalid Saeed Al Shamsi.
The move is in line with the directives of His Highness Lt.Gen.Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Minister of Interior, to provide safety and security to the seafarers.
Lt.Col.Mohammed Ghadeer Al Kutubi, director of the department, at the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police called upon the families and the seafarers to be cautious to avoid drowning accidents which urge during the summer as people take on swimming and marine trips on the Abu Dhabi and other beaches.
He also asked the parents to warn their children to avoid going deep in to the sea and other islands especially during when the waves and sea is rough which can cause drowning accidents.
Kutubi called upon the sea adventures to fully equip their boats well and report to the marine patrols at the beaches regarding their itinerary and timings .he also advised them to provide their telephone numbers to the police for providing timely assistance at the time of accidents.
