The participants in the 31st GCC Meeting of Directors General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations stressed the need to further cultivate cooperation between GCC States, in order to combat crime in all its forms and manifestations and to continue exchanging databases between GCC countries within the GCC Police Force.
The participants also emphasized the need to develop the guidebook and distribute it to the member states. They also came up with a set of appropriate recommendations in this regard to be submitted to their Excellencies GCC Ministry of Interior Undersecretaries during their next meeting.
The meeting concluded on Tuesday evening in Abu Dhabi. The GCC heads of State and delegates participating in the meeting expressed their thanks and appreciation to Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, for the warm hospitality and the outstanding efforts exerted by the ministry, which had a significant impact on producing the appropriate outcomes and recommendations that enhance security cooperation and achieve the coveted aspirations of Their Highnesses and Their Excellencies the GCC ministers of interior.
Moreover, they prayed the Almighty Allah to permanently bestow upon the UAE and its people safety and security, to drive progress and development, and achieve further progress and prosperity.
The participants in the meeting agreed to hold the 32nd Meeting of Directors General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigations in the GCC States during the month of April in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Brigadier Hamad Ajlan Al Amimi, Director General of the Federal Criminal Police, presented the Ministry of Interior’s shield to the heads of delegations participating in the meeting.
The heads and members of the GCC delegations participating in the meeting visited the Forensic Evidence Department at the Abu Dhabi Police in order to examine the department’s sections and branches, as well as its different tasks and duties undertaken in crime detection and law enforcement.
They were briefed by Colonel Abdul Rahman Al Hammadi, Head of the Forensic Evidence Department at Abu Dhabi Police, about the department’s work. They also watched a documentary film titled “Together towards a Secure Society”, which highlights the distinguished prominent status enjoyed by the Abu Dhabi Police; the scientific development and global level attained in the technological, scientific, and human aspects; and the efforts exerted to operate according to international standards, which positioned the Abu Dhabi Police at the highest international levels.
Moreover, the heads and members of the GCC delegations were acquainted with the role and functions of the Forensic Evidence Department in achieving criminal justice. They were given an overview of the police leadership’s attention towards developing the technical and human resources according to the best security practices, with the aim of achieving justice; in addition to providing modern techniques, advanced laboratories, hiring highly qualified experts and specialists, and availing of the latest electronic systems, such as the unique FEDLIMS System.
Concluding their visit, the participants toured the department and reviewed the modern devices and equipment used in the weapons and ammunition quality control process.
