An Emirati family lost their one year and seven months old girl in Al Ruwais City in the Western Region (Al Gharbia) on Thursday night, after they forgot her in the car. Colonel Ojeil Ali Abdullah Al Junaibi, Director of the Western Region Police Directorate estimated that the death reason is suffocation and tiredness due to high temperature.

Colonel Al Junaibi expressed his grief for the loss of the girl and he continued by explaining that the police received a tip off yesterday night at 09:30; the body of the girl was transferred to Al Ruwais Hospital, and the investigations are underway to identify the details of the accident.

He also said that Abu Dhabi Police feels deeply sad for these repeated accidents, despite the continuous warnings and the intensive awareness campaigns issued by the police to educate the public about these accidents. ADP has frequently encouraged strengthening the joint efforts that serve in fostering the children protection.

Colonel Al Junaibi called upon the public to pay more attention to avoid such tragic incidents. He also noted that the parents’ main responsibility is to care for their children and protect them against dangers.

Concluding, Colonel Al Junaibi stressed that the family role is vital in protecting children and parents must be more responsible in this regards. He also hoped that such incidents stop as it causes the death of innocent victims.
