Civil defence week from March 10th 

 
The Civil Defence Week will be observed in Abu Dhabi from March 10 to 15, according to a senior officer.
The event themed ‘Civil Defence and People with Special Needs Safety’ is in line with the visions and instructions of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, said Col. Abdullah Hassan Ghareeb, Director of the Civil Defence Department in Abu Dhabi.
Minister of Interior Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan has underscored the importance of safety of people with special needs and their integration into the society, Ghareeb added.
Several cultural programmes and awareness campaigns and educational activities, in collaboration with many special needs centers and social institutions, have been planned for the occasion, said Lieutenant Abdullah Hamad Al Tamimi, Head of the Public Relations Section in the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Department.
There will also be competitions, particularly for housewives, as well as study sheets on protection and safety.
A number of special needs centers in the country will participate in the exhibition to be held on the occasion. The Higher Colleges of Technology, Abu Dhabi Education Zone, along with the companies and centers concerned with special needs people will also participate in the show.
