Amnesty period ends
The grace period granted by Lt.General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Interior for illegal expatriates to leave the country without penalty will end at Friday midnight. The additional grace period was given on the expiry of the original amnesty in September.
The Ministry of Interior will hold a pres conference on Sunday to announce the results of the overall amnesty and the legislations in pipeline aimed at regulating the influx of foreigners into the country.
