Lt. General Saif Abdullah Al Sha’far, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Interior, awarded a large number of officers from Lieutenant Colonels to their new ranks. The officers were promoted by virtue of the Federal decree No. (7) of 2015 that His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, had recently issued. The promotional event was held on Sunday in the auditorium at the Ministry’s headquarters.

Lt. General Al Sha’far conveyed the greetings of Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, to the promoted officers and praised their efforts in the performance of their duties.

“We pride ourselves with these grand initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE - May God protect him,” Lt. General Al Sha’far said. “The initiative also affirms that there are distinguished police officers capable of facing their responsibilities and withstanding the growing burdens that are placed upon the police and security entities.”

“One of the most distinguishing features of the Ministry of Interior is the ability of all members to work together as one team in order to achieve one goal. A goal that is to enhance the march of ensuring security through the adoption of a unified strategy and approach,” Lt. General Al Sha’far said. He called upon officers to maintain these gains and to work towards achieving the projected objectives of the UAE government, “Together, we work towards our goal of achieving the government’s vision of establishing the UAE as one of the best countries in the world in the fields of safety and security. Together, all of us will work both efficiently and effectively in order to enhance the quality of life within the society of the UAE and to ensure the safety of every life, and every property.”

Lt. General Al Sha’far also encouraged officers to redouble their efforts and to be devoted to their duties of protecting national gains and to fostering the march of safety and security that citizens have been able to enjoy. He also expressed his best wishes of luck and success to all of the officers in their performance of policing and security duties, and in their service to the nation.

The event was attended by Major General Abdul Aziz Maktoum Al Shareefi, Director General of Protective Security in the Ministry of Interior; and Brigadier Muhammed Ghadir Al Kutbi, Deputy Director General of the Federal Criminal Police; alongside department heads and a number of MoI officers.
