The Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, represented by the Sports Section at the Strategy and Performance Development Department, recently organized the Road Race Championship within the Western Region Police Director Sports Excellence Shield. The championship was organized in collaboration with the Western Region Police Directorate and included participation of 7 police stations and sections affiliated to the directorate. Al Marfa Police Station ranked first in the Championship; the Finance and Services Section placed second; and the Investigation Section came in third place. The championship was attended by Colonel Yasser Al Sharqi, Deputy Director of the Western Region Police Directorate; Captain Jamal Al Saadi, National Teams and Competitions Branch Manager; along with a number of officers and attendees.
Colonel Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, indicated that the Abu Dhabi Police’s strategic plan also includes organizing all sorts of sports competitions, which serve police work across the various departments. This would provide the opportunity to the largest possible number of Abu Dhabi Police staff members to take part in championships and competitions. He also praised the efforts of all those who contributed to the success of this championship.
For his part, Captain Jamal Al Saadi, National Teams and Competitions Branch Manager, indicated that the directorate’s shield includes several championships, focusing on competitions that serve police work. The winning team receives the Western Region Police Director Sports Excellence Shield.
