The General Department of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi, represented by the Residency and Foreigners Affairs Department in Al Ain, hosted the children of the Emirates Autism Society by holding a mini exhibition in the main customer service hall. Held on the occasion of World Autism Awareness Day, the mini exhibition showcased the children’s talents and innovations.
Colonel Khalifa Matar Balquba' Al Humairi, Director of the Residency and Foreigners Affairs Department in Al Ain, along with the officers and staff, viewed the children’s talents that included artistic performances and robots made by young Emirati Ahmed Al Niyadi. Al Niyadi is the winner of the title “Innovator of 2015” for his design and construction of robots made out of LEGO blocks in a competition organized by the Abu Dhabi Technology Development Committee.
Colonel Khalifa Al Humairi appreciated the efforts of the Emirates Autism Society which aims to integrate persons living with autism into the community and to introduce them and their capabilities to the society. He also thanked the Emirates Autism Society for providing the department staff with the opportunity to see the innovations and talents of autistic children. He noted the appreciation of the department towards the Society’s activities, and of the department’s keenness to collaborate further, which stems from the Ministry of Interior’s commitment to social responsibility.
For her part, Rawdah Al Jarwan, Deputy Director of the Al Ain Branch of the Emirates Autism Society, expressed her thanks and appreciation to the Residency and Foreigners Affairs Department in Al Ain for supporting the efforts of the Society in integrating Autistic children and for its continuous cooperation for serving this societal segment.
