Accidents not due to signal timing – Police
The number of accidents happening near signal point is not due to the timing of the traffic signal but due to over speeding and reckless driving by motorists.
This was stated by Major Engineer Husain Al Harthi, head of the engineering department at the traffic and patrolling department at the General Headquarters’ of Abu Dhabi police.
He cautioned the motorists to keep within the speed limits and even reduce the speed while approaching traffic signals instead of speeding to cross before the green signal turn to yellow.
