The Directorate General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi launched the “We Care because you are Valuable” initiative. This initiative coincides with the Cabinet’s resolution No. 22 for the year 2014 regarding the organization and development of the services at the MoI’s Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs Sector. It is also in line with the Ministerial Decision No. 377 for the year 2014, which amended the applicable regulations on foreigners’ entry and residence, in a bid to streamline the implementation of the new regulations and resolutions, highlight their anticipated benefits and introduce the services provided by the sector.
To ensure the proper implementation of the new scheme, the directorate general formed a number of task forces to help overcome any potential obstacles that customers may face regarding the new decisions. These task forces will also strive to come up with appropriate solutions to ensure smooth processing of all transactions, through customer satisfaction assessment and periodic dialogue sessions.
The task force chaired by Colonel Salim Ali Al Qattam Al Zaabi, Director General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi, with membership of heads of department and chiefs of sections; discussed the new visa entry permits structure introduced by virtue of the above-mentioned Cabinet resolution.
The task force also visited the printing offices in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, to assess their readiness to implement the new resolution and acquaint their staff with the new regulations and fees. The team members stressed the importance of observing and implementing the new amendments, and thoroughly checking customers’ personal information after printing the application forms. They also urged the employees of these offices to take care of customers and provide them with the necessary assistance.
For his part, Colonel Al Zaabi noted that the ministerial resolution, which amended the applicable regulations on foreigners’ entry and residence, is in pursuance with the Government's vision 2021. “This vision aspires to make the UAE one of the best countries in the world, by meeting the social requirements, in a way that supports various aspects of economic, tourism and social activities, which serve customers’ interests via sophisticated smart services,” pointed Colonel Al Zaabi. Adding further, he said that the new decisions take into account the quality and efficiency of the Federal Government services, according to customers’ expectations, which increase with every achievement attained by the UAE in all aspects of life. “A vital sector such as the Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs Sector, which serves the various segments of the society, must keep pace with customers’ expectations, to meet current and future needs in accordance with the law and in line with the pursuit of happiness principle,” he said.
In conclusion, Colonel Al Zaabi said that the Directorate General of Residency and foreigners Affairs strives to instill the culture of excellence and proficiency, by enhancing the efficiency of service provision for customers’ benefit.
