The Media and Public Relations Section at the Directorate General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi organized an initiative under the theme “Together…we plant the UAE”. The initiative aims to encourage planting trees, protecting the environment, and expanding green areas in the yards and corridors of the Directorate. The initiative marks the Directorate’s celebration of the 35th Plantation Week, which was held from 1 to 5 March and is celebrated annually by the UAE.

Colonel Salim Ali Al Qattam Al Zaabi, Director General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Abu Dhabi, accompanied by heads of departments and chief of sections, planted a tree in the front yard of the Directorate’s Headquarters.

In regards to the occasion, Colonel Al Zaabi said: “the higher leadership of the UAE is keen to expand the green areas across the UAE by planting more trees. The annual celebrations for Plantation Week and the ever-expanding green oases that are transforming our desert reflect this commitment.”  He additionally highlighted the tireless efforts that have been exerted in the fields of agriculture and preservation of the environment within the UAE.
