The Abu Dhabi Police celebrated the victory of the Security Media Team, which was crowned champion in the Ramadan Football First Championship, organized by the Journalists’ Association-Abu Dhabi Branch. The final championship game was held at the Al Fahim school stadium in Abu Dhabi.
In his speech, Colonel Fawaz Khalil Badran, Director of Tactical Affairs and Security Media honored the winning team praising their winning efforts. He stated that their accomplishment demonstrates exemplary sportsmanship, which allowed them to achieve victory. He added that the next tournament will witness further progress positively reflecting on the team’s performance level in particular, and on the tournament in general.
He stressed that the participation in this championship is part of the Ministry of Interior’s strategy to enhance the relationship between the police and society. He highlighted the commitment of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters to encourage police talents through participation in various creative fields, especially in sports; citing its many different forms.
The Security Media team members dedicated their victory to Lt. General His Highness Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior for his unconditional support and encouragement to police personnel; they further added that his support allows them to participate and excel in all the creative activities and sports fields.
Lieutenant Hamdan Al Dire, the Captain of the team, expressed his gratitude to the Director of the Security Media Directorate for his encouragement, emphasizing that this victory is the result of the support of the Higher Police Leadership, which played a major role in encouraging the talents and urging them to participate in all kinds of sports.
Lieutenant Al Diri stressed on the Security Media’s interest in sports due to its positive effects on their physical health and collective spirit. The team’s involvement also civilized behaviors, from the "Security Media" Sports and Social slogans launched and adopted lately, like: "One Team…One Goal," and "Hand in Hand for a Growing Homeland."
For his part, Abdullah Kazem, the Trainer of the team, hailed the efforts exerted by the Journalists’ Association to organize this championship and the team’s victory, stating that this winning confirms the team’s ambition to achieve new accomplishments for Abu Dhabi Police.
The Ramadan Football First Championship, organized by the Journalists' Association, was launched in Abu Dhabi in July 24, 2012 with the participation of Eight (8) teams: The Security Media, the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Al Ittihad Newspaper, the Gulf Newspaper team (1) and team (2), Al Bayan Newspaper, Emirates Al-Youm, Zahrat Al-Khaleej, and the Journalists sons.
The semifinal tournament resulted in the victory of the Security Media team on the Gulf Newspaper team (1) . The Emirates News Agency team won against the Journalists Sons team. The Security Media team played against the Emirates News Agency team in the championship match; the game ended with the victory of the Security Media team that scored four goals against three for the Emirates News Agency team.
