The Community Police Department team in the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters has won the 12th Futsal Championship, after beating the Capital Police Directorate team 6/5. The championship is organized by the Strategy and Performance Development Department – Sports Activity Section. It comes under the sports activity program of the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters.
Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, stressed the keenness of the General Headquarters on diversifying the competitions and enhancing communication between the personnel, as well as networking and cooperation. He also thanked those who contributed to making the 12th Futsal Championship a success, especially the management of the Aisha bint Abu Bakr Secondary School.
Captain Jamal Al Saadi, National Teams and Competitions Branch Manager mentioned that the conclusion of the championship marks the completion of half of the Commnder-in-chief Shield Championships. The remaining championships are planned to be continued after the month of Ramadan with the road race, tactical shooting, iron man, athletics, and olympic rowing championships.
The championship started on April 20, with the participation of 17 teams from the departments of Abu Dhabi Police. 37 matches took place in which two teams were qualified to the final match: the Community Police Department team and the Capital Police Directorate. The Operations Department team was ranked third in the 12th Futsal Championship, after beating the Western Region Police Directorate team 10/5.
Player Ahmed Saleh from the Operations Department team won the title of the highest scorer in the championship whereas Mohammed Nasser from the Community Police Department team won the title of best goalkeeper in the championship.
The concluding ceremony was attended by Major Mohammed Al Falahi, Chief of the Sports Activity Section; and Captain Jamal Al Saadi, National Teams and Competitions Branch Manager. The championship was held at Aisha bint Abu Bakr Secondary School in Abu Dhabi.
