The Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department at Abu Dhabi Police acquainted students at Abdul Qader Al Jazaeri School, Al Bateen Private School and Al Ihsan Kindergarten, with the proper etiquette on the road; as well as the rules of the road, which include: the proper ways to board and exit school buses; cross streets at the designated crosswalks; and the need to exercise caution to avoid accidents.

The department had recently organized a traffic awareness day for students, as a part of the GCC Traffic Week. The awareness program included two lectures on traffic safety, training on the golden rule for safe school bus rides, the etiquette of school bus seating, and the need to develop an appropriate behavior. Moreover, the students were urged to avoid tampering any bus equipment to not distract the driver.

Colonel Ibrahim Al Shamesi, Deputy Director of Vehicles and Drivers Licensing Department at Abu Dhabi Police, urged students to learn the proper road etiquette as well as the proper ways to board and exit school buses. He also encouraged them to wear the seatbelt and to abide by  traffic instructions, in order to protect them against traffic accidents.

Students from Abdul Qader Al Jazaeri School presented a theater play about traffic safety. The event’s activities also included the distribution of gifts to encourage students to participate in traffic-related events aimed at enhancing their awareness.
