The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ launched an awareness initiative for the occasion of Eid Al Adha. The initiative is a part of the “Your Safety” campaign implemented by the Security Media Department at the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister of Interior.

Major General Mohammed bin Al Awadhi Al Menhali, Director General of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, called on all society members to cooperate in promoting the requirements of prevention and safety measures in various locations, such as parks, public gardens, shopping malls, and any other areas that may witness a high density of visitors during the Eid Al-Adha holiday.

Major General Al Menhali stated that the UAE Government is committed to ensuring a high-quality of life for the community of the UAE, which embodies the strategic plan of the Ministry of Interior. The strategic plan aims to provide excellent services to enhance public trust and to achieve customer satisfaction in the services that have been provided, of which are in accordance with the best international standards.  

“The initiative comprises the preparation of an integral plan for enhancing safety. The police will intensify patrols in various areas in Abu Dhabi and will follow-up on all of the efforts made by the police squads- particularly in cases of emergency,” Major General Al Menhali said. Furthermore, he highlighted the significance of collaborative efforts and preventive measures that occur during the Eid holiday and in all occasions throughout the year.  

Adding further, Major General Al Menhali mentioned that the Eid initiative involves all of the police and  security authorities who use the latest, and most advanced tools, embodying the vision of the UAE as being one of the most safe and secure countries in the world.  

Major General Al Menhali urged families and members of the public to watch over their children and to supervise them when they play. Children should never be left alone for fear of falling from high places or escalators, or getting lost in crowded places.  Moreover, he pointed out that parents should not leave their kids home alone, in order to avoid the potential of hazards involving sharp objects or flammable materials. “Supervise your children when they play in gardens and theme parks, they should not be playing with serious mechanical games that are not age appropriate,” he said.  

The “Your Safety” police campaign comes as part of the campaigns and initiatives implemented by the Security Media Department in order to enhance public awareness of safety and prevention requirements. These initiatives embody the directives of the police leadership to redouble efforts through hard work, excellence, and creativity.
