The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ recently launched the “My Tourism is My Identity” initiative in order to enhance the concept of tourism among community members in a way that reflects the civilized aspects of the United Arab Emirates. The initiative aims to acquaint tourists with the touristic attractions and places within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and includes various events to enable volunteers who wish to contribute to spreading the concept within the community.

Lieutenant Colonel Muzeed Al Otaibi, Chief of Tourism Police Section at Abu Dhabi Police said, “In collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Community Development, and within the activities of the “My Tourism is My Identity” initiative, the section has organized a campaign to clean the beaches of the Abu Dhabi Corniche at the Heritage Village near the Breakwater, Abu Dhabi. The campaign was carried out with the participation of Environment Friends Society (EFS) and other volunteers in order to preserve the general cleanliness and environmental safety of touristic places that attract tourists from all over the world.

Moreover, he explained that the campaign will raise awareness among tourists regarding the approximate price of the currency exchange by distributing booklets to taxis. This effort will help tourists to know what the price of the UAE dirham (AED) exchange rate is in regards to other currencies. Lieutenant Colonel Al Otaibi also confirmed that this step enhances the confidence of tourists in the UAE’s tourism industry and in the security and stability enjoyed by the UAE,  further motivating them to return at all times for holidays, vacations, and sightseeing.

“The initiative is a continuation of the efforts of the concerned authorities in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to develop the tourism industry and provide a splendid image of tourist attractions and archaeological sites in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi,” added Lieutenant Colonel Al Otaibi. He also pointed out the efforts of the Tourism Police Officers in maintaining security and stability and responding quickly to tourists when needed; providing them with services around-the-clock.
